It is my belief that people can change not merely by insight into our patterns of behavior but by making the choice to actively change those patterns. For the past 10 years I have been in private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor treating individuals with a wide range of disorders ranging from Anxiety, Depression, Addictions, Bipolar Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, ADD/ADHD, Chronic Pain and Personality Disorders.
I am certified as an Advanced Transactional Analysis Practitioner and completed TA training at Southeast Institute in Chapel Hill under Dr. Vann Joines. In addition, I have completed numerous post graduate trainings in Advanced Integrative Therapy (Basic, Masters and PTSD), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Couples Counseling utilizing the Gottman method (Gottman Level 1 and 2 completed) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) 4 day Externship and 6 month Core Skills Training completed in Greensboro, NC March 2017.
In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my clients individual needs to help attain the personal growth they’re striving for. I help clients reach an understanding of their core beliefs and how their thoughts influence their feelings and subsequent actions. By educating clients about cognitive behavioral techniques, and Transactional Analysis clients are provided tools to better understand themselves, and more effectively manage their own emotions and make positive changes in their lives.
